As a former competitive bodybuilder, yoga came to me first as a whisper, and it kept nudging at me until I dove in. It was exactly what I needed. It brought my mind and body peace and surrender. It was the perfect practice to pair with my strength training. Soon I began to meditate and do breath work as well. In my physical therapy career, I frequently utilize yoga as well as breath work as a means to move the energy or calm the mind, depending on my patient’s need. My favorite practices are yin yoga and power yoga, so I enjoy both ends of the spectrum!
Becoming a yoga teacher has helped me grow as an individual, but you don’t need to teach to benefit from yoga! Just get on your mat!
