Are there any specific yoga poses or practices that have been particularly transformative for you? I love the gentle yoga practice. I swim and walk about 4 to 5 days a week. So the more gentle class helps me to relax and let go of stress and tension. I also love the restorative practice that Linda teaches once a month. It’s absolutely amazing. Linda Herrmann does a phenomenal job of leading us through this practice. I feel that she puts her whole heart and her soul into it.

What advice would you give someone who is new to yoga or considering starting a practice?  I would say come on and try it. You can’t loose! But you can gain a lot!

How has yoga helped you navigate challenges or difficult times in your life? Yoga has helped me so much…physically gaining more strength,my breath work has been so helpful with releasing things I’m not supposed to be carrying, one of those things being stress. I love the balance poses which help me in every day life

Do you have any favorite yoga-related activities or rituals that enhance your practice? I love being on the floor on my mat talking to my husband or a family member or friend. It feels so relaxing and can lead into a stretch, some breath work, an intimate conversation naturally!

Are there any specific teachers, resources, or books that have influenced your yoga journey?  I have a great teacher at the YMCA in the town I live in. She‘s very special. But I’m so grateful for the Sukha studio. I love this special space. It feels so welcoming and everyone is so friendly and caring. So far I have only taken Linda Herrmann‘s gentle yoga class and the restorative class. I will be exploring other classes in the near future. I’m also enjoying the book club meeting every other Tuesday lead by Amber Boyles. We are reading the book the Yamas and Niyamas, exploring Yoga‘s Ethical Practice.

In what ways do you see yoga continuing to play a role in your future?  I see my yoga practice evolving in a deeper way by attending practices at Sukha studio and at home on my own. I’m eager to learn and grow in this beautiful community of beautiful people. I will continue on this path indefinitely.

What initially drew you to yoga and how has your practice evolved since then? I started back to making a commitment to a yoga practice going on 4 years ago now.I quickly realized how much my body needed yoga. When the Sukha yoga studio opened last September,I got invited by Linda Herrmann to the open house.I started attending right away on a regular basis.
