What advice would you give someone who is new to yoga or considering starting a practice?

Do it! Try different classes and I guarantee you will find your niche.

In what ways do you see yoga continuing to play a role in your future?

I truly enjoy yoga and I believe it will continue to be a routine part of my life. I appreciate the sense of well-being and the comradery.

Are there any specific teachers, resources, or books that have influenced your yoga journey?

All of the teachers at Sukha Inspired Yoga are an inspiration and I appreciate the variety of classes that are offered! I recently purchased the book “Science of Yoga: Understanding the Anatomy and Physiology to Perfect Your Practice.” I haven’t read it yet but yoga has allowed me to get to a place where I am excited to get back to reading!

Are there any specific yoga poses or practices that have been particularly transformative for you?

My favorite poses are child’s pose and bridge; however, I also try to embrace less favorite poses (dancer pose and crow) because they help me get out of my comfort zone and push me to try new things.

How do you incorporate mindfulness and yoga principles into your daily routine?

I incorporate breathing techniques and certain movements/poses throughout my day which has helped reduce my stress levels. I recently began attending early morning classes and I have noticed increased energy and concentration!

What initially drew you to yoga and how has your practice evolved since then?

I was initially drawn to yoga several years ago to help with flexibility because I was running. After I stopped running I stopped practicing yoga. I came back to yoga to help with tension headaches, reduce stress and find a way to relax! Yoga has helped me improve my mental and physical health. My friend Ashley introduced me to Sukha Inspired Yoga and I have been attending on a regular basis since November 2023!
